The garage doors on the boat house are small but that doesn’t mean they are easy. We had to overcome some very unique obstacles. First working close with the builder and home owner we had to achieve a style that worked with the décor of the guest house doors. We provided several shop drawings reflecting different ideas until every detail was perfect.

Next we had to decide which material would hold up best against the harsh New Hampshire winters. We decided to go with a paint grade product that resists moisture and performs excellent in the exterior environment.  The product is also environmentally responsible because it is Scientific Certification Systems (SCS) certified which is the “Green” way to be. The customers are still trying to decide what paint color will go on the doors but we recommend Benjamin Moore Aura. It is Benjamin Moore’s most technologically advanced exterior paint.  We are all excited to see what the finished boat house is going to look like. Any company can sell you a custom garage door but just remember with these types of doors you should form a bit of a relationship with the company you choose. Manufacturing our doors in Massachusetts gives us an advantage because sometimes you don’t just want to stare at a brochure.
